The “other” axolotl
A few things happened when I saw this “other” axolotl. Or more accurately, my own reflection. First, it startled me, (thankyouverymuch), and second, it got me wondering…
How come I live alone in this beautiful, wonderful, pretty well-sized home? I mean, I’m not sure I’d share my hammock, but there’s certainly plenty space and various cool little hideouts for others to use. Or we could take turns. Well, maaaaybe. Because: HAMMOCK, you know? We’re not talking trivial stuff here.

But anyway.
There’s a third thing that happened when I saw my reflection. Not really quite different from the other two, just…kind of a different take on the same situation: I almost peed my non-pants! (yeah yeah, I know: why does it matter then? but let us hold that thought), which took me back to a moment when I realized something about my home…
Despite its wonderfulness, there is one thing that seems to be missing. Something so important that people traveling to places where other languages are spoken try to learn how to say first. Something that had me asking a very important question. Did you guess it yet? Are you thinking what I was thinking?
What do you mean there’s no bathroom!!?

I was like, come on, are you kidding me? What am I supposed to do, just pee and…go on my merry way?
Though on the other hand, who has not been deep in swimmingly play (or thought) when suddenly nature calls and…such a rude interruption! Such a dilemma. The idea of answering nature’s call right then and there doesn’t seem so bad when seen from that perspective.
But, OH! Wait a minute. Maaaybe, just maybe…that’s the reason I’m the only axolotl here? Because, think about it. Imagine being invited to swim in somebody’s house…I mean pool. And there is NO bathroom. What do you think is going to happen in such a situation? I mean, we all have to pee sometime, right?
And it’s not like we axolotls can just get out of the water and pee on a bush or something. You know?

Oh but something else is just occurring to me!
Remember how when I was little I first lived in a tub? And remember how each day I had to move into a new one that was exactly the same? Well, now I’m thinking…what if there was a reason for that after all? Because, I mean, can I say I never peed in the water?
Nope, I cannot.
So, could that be why? Because I do remember feeling glad to be in brand new water.
There’s still no bathroom to be seen, though. I think that part I do know.

But if that’s true…how come I don’t get my water changed daily anymore, but it still feels clean?
